 50th Anniversary Celebrations

We are hoping to have a Timeline display on show in college in time for the afternoon of the Anniversary tea party. This will flag up significant dates in the history of education and for MVC in the past 50 years. As part of our fundraising initiative, we would also like to add names and dates for anyone who has had an association with the College in any capacity: pupil, staff, adult learner, swimmer, etc.

If you would like your name to appear on our Timeline, we are asking for 50p per name and for you to tell us the year when you first came to the College and what you association was/is, eg: John Adams, 1999 Parent/governor and we will place a label with your name, on that year, on our display. This will show the many links that Melbourn families have had with the College over the last 50 years.

Thank You

Thank you to Foxton Post Office Stores for their very generous donation of Sainsbury’s and Tesco vouchers which their customers have brought into their store.

Also thanks to Cambridge Building Society for their continued support of the donation of these vouchers.

Good News

Congratulations to Nadia Cohen in 7 Lewis who had her solution to Picks theorem published on the nrich website. This is a fantastic maths website based at the University of Cambridge maths department who publish monthly problems for pupils to attempt and then send in their solutions. The best solutions are then picked and published the next month with the student’s name and school. Go to nrich.maths.org (no www) to see this month’s problems and search for pick’s theorem to see how Nadia solved that one.
